Prepare with prayer . . .
Though not a scriptural directive, this is one of my favorite expressions.
Simple yet powerful.
While many people turn to God only after all else fails, committing things in our lives to Him through prayer before they occur is powerful.
Why?
Because prayer turns our hearts to God, putting us in close communion with Him. It acknowledges His power, His ability to work in situations that are beyond our control.
Doing so also affirms our humility toward God, which He rewards richly with His grace.
“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:5b-7)
We’re to cast all our care upon Him, because He cares for us.
“Casting” from the Greek means “to throw or roll upon.” We roll all our cares upon God, and do not take them back. We trust they are safely in His care . . .
. . . because He cares for us.
Prayer is also one of the greatest ways we submit to God; thereby resisting potential devilish attacks, and causing him to flee.
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Why wait?
Prepare with prayer by casting your cares—all of them—on Him.
See Him go to work in your life . . . as you dwell peacefully in His presence.

I agree, Cheryl! I’ve got to start my day with prayer. Then, I’m prepared to face the day. I have been reading your book and I thank God for your biblical understanding and faithfulness. I am hoping you are having a fine spring!

Thanks Lisa! I agree – what is more important than setting our hearts right with Him as we begin each day? Only then do we carry His peace in our hearts and learn to hear His voice. Blessings to you!
